Simple, Classic but Classy by Bottega Italiana
JKTGO, July 2020
Bottega Italiana Bali first debuted in the spring of 2015 with Basilico on Jl Drupadi in Seminyak after executive chef and restaurant owner Luigi Andrea Calcagno of Zibiru Restaurant felt the need to cook home-cooked and gourmet dishes at prices that were very much in line with their quality.
Inspired by charming Italian cafes with a touch of minimalist Japanese aesthetics using local Indonesian ingredients and techniques, the Zibiru concept aims to help you reduce stress and relax and find quality healthy food. Bottega Italiana Bali has a cafe, bakery, salumeria and pasticeria, all of which showcase the best of what Italy has to offer.
Each location is named after the main ingredients in Italian cuisine: Basilico (superior in Seminyak), Rosmarina (Batu Bolong), Timo (Petitenget), Origano (Berawa) and the opening of Menta (Mint) in Pererenan in 2020. Moreover, direct pasta station in Basilico, Timo and Origano allow guests to watch pasta training at Zibiru, as they painstakingly make each pasta on site. And it does not stop there. Basilico offers diehard cult followers a secret menu - unofficial and not advertised dishes that are not on the regular menu and are only shared by word of mouth. Jazz fans can also enjoy music on the page every Monday night.
By sticking to simple and classic recipes and artisan techniques that have existed for hundreds of years, Bottega Italiana Bali highlights the freshness of its ingredients through simple dishes that allow each flavor to shine.
